NOT ANOTHER FOOD HANDOUT!

It is clear that the downturn in our economy is affecting everyone.
Many of those within our ministry, who were already on
the edge of poverty, are now struggling to make ends meet.
In fact, we have identified families who due to job loss or the
elimination of jobs, are running out of food and resources before
the end of each month.

We want to offer these people a hand up through a new effort we
are calling FoodSHARE Cooperative. Co-op members join for
five dollars per year and two hours of volunteer work per
month to access groceries to see them through the critical “end of
the month” time period.

You are invited to partner with us in collecting non-perishable
food items to be distributed to the co-op membership. We hope
you will consider this plea. Jesus urged us to care for the
poor among us.

WHO ARE THE RECIPIENTS OF YOUR DONATION?
Members of FoodSHARE Cooperative are individuals with
which we have a relationship through one of our ministry
areas:

The Lord’s Gym – an outreach to men, many coming out of a
culture of drugs, violence and separation from God.

Nicholas Hoyer Sports Center
–The Lord’s Gym ministry to youth caught in the cycle of poverty
and sometimes…neglect.

The Lord’s Pantry – reaching out to senior citizens, the homeless,
individuals struggling with substance abuse and those with disabilities.
